These are songs composed by the bard Raef Larksong to immortalize himself, his traveling companions, and their adventures. It should be noted that the "Slimy Sorcerer" is actually a wizard, but Raef isn't above taking a little poetic license when it comes to alliteration. The wizard is at least slimy. And besides, who are people going to listen to, the immortal bard or the ugly guy in the corner coated in some acidic goop that the bard is singing about at the time?
He's still looking for a better title than "The Dagger Man," but isn't really that worried about immortalizing his erstwhile acquaintance just yet.

I am a troubled trobadour, and that's my claim to fame I was born on an ill-fated sailing ship upon the raging main My parents were washed overboard by wind and pounding rain And the ship was beached near Endin, whose location gave it name Chorus: So sit down and have a pint and listen to my tale Of wanderings and ponderings, meandering without fail Throughout a land in shadows cast by moonlight ever pale Only the Troubled Troubadour would follow such a trail I was raised by townsfolk and I learned some honest trades But then I met with scoundrels and learned other things that paid By stealth, by song, by fights and flights are tales for taverns made So I struck out to make my mark and hoped it wouldn't fade Chorus The world was cold and bitter and my luck was really bad I was kicked out of the only home I ever had Still the circumstances didn't make me all that sad For what good's a foster home to any wanderin' lad Chorus Now I'm the Troubled Troubadour, and danger is the game Trouble is my life now and that's where I got my name Never shall I walk the easy path to honest fame Only strife and problems mark the way from which I came Chorus |

Come dwarven kin, both strong and stout, and listen now to me About that dwarven warrior whose rage runs fast and free I'll tell you of his stalwart heart, his courage brave and true And details of his wanderings, both of the old and new Chorus: From dungeons deep and mountains high to the local barroom brawl No foe can topple, fell or maim the most durable dwarf of all Even the stoutest, sternest dwarves in all of Durin's kin Might not survive the scrapes and such our hero has been in Undead and vermin, orcs and bandits all have tried their best To fell this dwarf or even pierce his adamantite chest Chorus So if you're in the mood today to lose a buffet game Or if you think that you're the force no foe could ever tame Be ready now to hit a wall as hard as Durin's crown This dwarf was forged of steel and stone and cannot be brought down Chorus |

Where the valley meets the mountain and the way is hard to find There a sharp-eyed elven maiden reads the signs you've left behind Chorus: It takes minutes, sometimes hours, to find a track of any kind But she'll find you in the end, though she gets there days behind If in the dark you crossed the river without touching one stone She'll read your mark upon the water as if it were a light that shone Chorus You can't lose her, you can't fool her, all that you have left is time She'll eventually find your cellar however high she has to climb Chorus |
